1/ Suitable environment/housing:
-an environment that is safe;
-environment that will provide stimulation;
-an environment that will provide shelter and warmth.
2/ Appropriate diet – taking into account age and species specifics
3/ Stimulation of typical behaviour patterns – toys, enclosures
4/ Preventive care and appropriate treatment
5/ Appropriate social environment /individual or group housing
